This series started during my residency in the “Cite des Arts” in Paris in 2000. Inspired by Christian and Classic art, I began to create golden icons.  The series applied Christian iconographic technique to Jewish–Israeli figures.        The series began with auto-portraits and then moved on to portraits of people , whose appearance seemed to me somehow medieval, among them friends and relatives. A later part of the series included fragments of faces and bodies. The series tries to brings the Christian western esthetic to the Israeli -Tel avivian sphere.

Two works from this series were presented in “Traces”, the Biennale exhbit for drawing (Jerusalem Artists House Nov 2001) as well also in the exhibition “The Restless” (Schcther Gallery, 2017). The series as a whole was presented on September 2006 at the “Artists’ House Tel-Aviv”.
